Will a GoDaddy domain name work with Inmotion web hosting?

The answer is yes. You can register your domain name with GoDaddy and host your website with Inmotion. Domain name and web hosting are two different services but they are related. You can have both services with the same company or each services with a different company.

It is a good idea to have your domain name registered with a different company other than the hosting company. If there is any dispute with the domain registrar, you can point your hosting to another company.

Plus, InMotion hosting is rated higher than GoDaddy’s, especially if you’re planning to build a business or eCommerce website. Get InMotion web hosting now – you can still use your GoDaddy domain via instructions below.

Here is how you can set the nameserver to use Inmotion hosting for a domain name that is registered at GoDaddy:

  • Log in to your GoDaddy Account Manager.
  • In the ‘My Products’ section, select ‘Domain Manager’.
  • Select the domain name(s) you want to modify.
  • From Nameservers icon, select ‘Set Nameservers’.
  • Select ‘ have specific nameservers for my domains’
  • Enter the primary and secondary nameservers for Inmotion (NS1.INMOTIONHOSTING.COM and NS2.INMOTIONHOSTING.COM)

Wait for a few hours for the changes to take effect. Usually the changes propagate the internet much quicker though. There are help files on GoDaddy site. The customer support is available 24 hours. As you can see, the configuration is not that difficult and help is also available.

How To Add an Addon Domain Registered at GoDaddy into InMotion hosting account:
